Make someone like me happy today!

My beloved family-in-law, I am writing to ask you to consider doing something for me, indirectly. This week I am madly recruiting for GOTV (Get Out the Vote) weekend. At this point I have 97 canvassing shifts and 29 phonebanking shifts scheduled for my little six-square-mile area of Troy. I am a bit short of my goal. Imagine my relief and delight if a bunch of people (all with the same last name, strangely) stopped by the office, asking what they can do to be part of this historic presidential campaign.

The captain in your area might be even more pleased than I, since that person is working crazily in a state that might turn blue on the electoral map for the first time since 1964. And because he or she knows, like I do, that this election will be won on the ground, door by door, call by call.

My dad has signed up for three shifts. My husband (yes, that Chris Eddy) has been canvassing, and as you are aware, he doesn't even like to talk to people he knows.

You can't volunteer for me (and why would you want to? - Obama is 20 points ahead in Michigan!) but you can reach my Lafayette counterpart here:

514 Main Street, Lafayette IN
(765) 429-5137

P.S. Chris wanted me to title this post "The All Talk (and no action) Eds." Are you going to take that lying down?

Sharing a Moment

"I am not George Bush. If you wanted to run against George Bush, you should have run four years ago." Oops. Our mistake, Senator. But you do seem to embrace a lot of the Bush positions.

You're cordially invited to provide your own caption for this special moment.

"I'm not feeling so good"

Looks like we're not the only ones who are finding McCain's last ditch campaign tactics to be pretty disgusting.

Presidential Proof

I hereby present proof before the family that Barack Obama will win the election. Handily.

Holy Presidential Election!

IT'S ME!

Howdy! As some of you may know, I recently attended a rock camp, which was amazing. One factor of the "Amazing" is that i was in a band. Yet another factor is we have a myspace. You can see our original music video and it's recorded version, as well as a recorded number I sung on.

I have a twitter

Hope to see some of you guys soon!

You Can Stop Worrying About Me

In case you all haven't heard: I am now gainfully employed!

My first day is in a few hours. Read all about it here.

Wish me luck!

(PS. Also, my blog is now filled with pictures of my puppy, Tenzing. You should go there, if for no other reason than to look at puppy pictures.)

A Month of Smears

How does everyone feel about a month of smears of Obama by the McCain campaign, evidently to be spearheaded by the insufferable Sarah Palin? She and McCain are talking about focusing on exposing the "real Obama" in the remaining weeks. Who do they think we've been seeing for the lat two years? It will certainly be a low ending to a campaign that had some very inspirational moments. Thank you, Karl Rove.
