Steve's Radio Essay on the Beatles

Steve's latest radio essay appeared on WBAA last Friday. It's about his (and our) ongoing obsession with the Beatles. You can listen here. By the way, Steve recalls some stuff about the Beatles appearance on Ed Sullivan that I don't remember--that I didn't watch it at home with the rest of the family because I had a baby-sitting job that night. Can anyone corroborate this claim?

Head Banging Bird

Anybody got any thoughts on why this robin keeps banging into our south bedroom window? I've tried closing the curtain and turning on the light to no effect. It takes 10 seconds for the bird to appear in the video, but then she/he hits the window three times in 23 seconds. We had a male cardinal do this a couple of years ago. Gets old fast.

Obama's NCAA Picks

NCAA Bracket

I've set up a family bracket for us in ESPN's NCAA Tournament Challenge for men's basketball. The team is called Eddy Hoops. Go to the ESPN site here. Click on Tournament Challenge. If you have an account from last year, enter your username and password; if not (or if you forgot your old one), create a new account. Then search for the group Eddy Hoops, join it, and fill in your bracket. You need to complete this by Thursday noon. Let the games begin!

Michael in 2012 All- State Band

Paul Shines in Romeo and Juliet

Phillip and I were able to see the production of Romeo and Juliet that Paul has been involved with. We can report that Paul brings life to his character, is very natural doing the Shakespearian language, and holds his own with a cast of experienced actors. As Back Stage put it in their review, Paul "makes Benvolio a sturdy kinsman and pal for Romeo." You can read the review here.
