New Items on Creative Commons

I'd fallen behind on the Eddy Creative Commons blog, so I've added four new items:
  • Michael's debut as a music critic in the Journal and Courier
  • Paul playing music in Central Park
  • Paul's new role
  • Steve's essay on blueberry picking
You can view all this and more at http://eddycommons.blogspot.com/.

Bonnie Attacked by Rooster

Bonnie volunteered to look after our new tenants' chickens while they were away for a couple of days.  On Sunday night she announced that she was going up to the rental house to check on the chickens.  I didn't think anything of it.  A few minutes later I went to the garage to go on a little errand and heard Bonnie shouting, "You get out of here!  You get out of here!"  I thought there was a predator in with the chickens, so I grabbed a shovel and started running up to the house.  When I arrived Bonnie was out in the yard with her leg bleeding.  After she got her wounds cleaned up she explained that the rooster had attacked her as she was leaving.  He was flying at her feet-first with his talons out.  Each time he flew at her, she kicked him in the chest, but he kept attacking.

Her leg was sore the rest of Sunday evening, but was a little better Monday.  Today it was sore and a little swollen, so she went to the doctor who took a culture to determine if there was a bacterial infection.

In our own little chicken operation we've opted not to have any roosters.  I'm pretty sure we'll stick with that policy.

Tim O'Brien Plays Lafayette

Tim O'Brien will play at the Lafayette Theater on Oct. 27.  He'll be playing with Bryan Sutton who's apparently a bluegrass guitar wizard.  He's played with Ricky Skaggs, Bela Fleck, and on Dolly Parton's bluegrass albums.
