Matt Graduates

Matthew S. Eddy received his Summa Cum Laude degree from Georgetown University yesterday. Apologies for the quality of the video. The person in the blue robe from whom he receives the second hug (the first being the Provost) is Prof. Lisa Eddy who also delivered the invocation prayer at the ceremony. Prof. Eddy and the new graduate are also pictured below. Matt is wearing his Oxford tie. I've posted a few more pictures in a Picasa web album here.

Cleo

Yesterday we lost Cleo who had been part of our household for 14 years. For most of the nieces and nephews she has always been part of the farm, but you've also seen her struggling for the last year or so. In the last few days she had stopped eating and couldn't stand, so it was time. Dawn Frank, her vet since she was a pup, helped her to a peaceful end. At 14 she'd lived very long for a Labrador. She was smart, stubborn, friendly, and sweet natured; I never knew her to growl or snap at person. A good companion whom we will miss.
