Evan Bayh Says We Will Pass Health Care with a Public Option

Steve and I hear a bit of news tonight first-hand at the Tippecanoe County Democrats' Jefferson-Jackson dinner. Senator Evan Bayh, one of the fiscally conservative Dems who've been balking at health care reform, says that the Congress will pass health care reform this year and that it will contain a public option. We infer that he will not block its passage. Now if someone could just work on Joe Lieberman!

Update: I just discovered that if you google my name in the Google News search, the Journal and Courier article comes up that quotes me. Does that mean I'm famous?

What's wrong with this picture? Fox News commentator and darling of the conservatives Bill O'Reilly speaks up in defense of the public option (??!!)

If the government can cobble together a cheaper insurance policy that gives the same benefits, I see that as a plus.
