Mike's Oregon trip

Last weekend at this time I was flying out to Oregon. My boss had been invited to a distance learning meeting at Oregon State, couldn't go, and sent me instead. My business started Monday, so I flew out Saturday, and was able to spend Saturday evening and Sunday with Sarah, as well as some times on Monday and Tuesday. On Sunday Sarah drove me out to the coast for some birdwatching and the opportunity to hang out at the ocean. On the way west we stopped at Alsea Bay in Waldport to check out the ducks. Then we were on to Seal Rock State Park where the rough seas were crashing into the rocks with beautiful/scary ferocity as captured inadequately in the embedded photo. Then we drove north to Newport and had lunch at a nice pub-style restaurant at the Rogue brewery (eat your heart out, Rob) that sits right on the Yacquina Bay in the shadow of the Newport bridge. I got to meet several of Sarah's friends during my stay and generally had a great time. I've posted a few pictures here.

Announcing the Mike Eddy 60th Birthday Trivia Test

The Trustees of the Talking Eds family blog are pleased to announce that its Managing Editor will not escape that which he hath wrought upon his siblings. As he approaches a milestone birthday, Mike Eddy was hoping that his father and brother Mark took all the good stories with them to Heaven.  But we know our readers will embrace this opportunity. Now is our time...We are the Embarrassment we've been waiting for.
We need your trivia items no later than January 29 so they can go online prior to his birthday on February 6 (That's one point for Rob for having his birthday programmed on his iPhone).  Please frame you questions as multiple choice, true-false, or fill-in-the-blank. Sample: Who was the subject of Mike's PhD dissertation? To brighten the spotlight, as a special bonus for this event we are also accepting photo images to supplement your questions, since our files are very thin on this mild-mannered Eddy.
Email your questions (with answers!) to Rob at robeddy@purdue.edu.
For more samples, see the Steve Eddy Trivia Test here.
