Squirrel Umbrella

Just before I chased him away from my bird feeder, this squirrel was sitting on our back deck using his tail for an umbrella to keep his head dry. Is this a common squirrel trick? I've never seen it before.

Egg Snob

The new generation of hens started laying late last week--after 23 weeks of doing nothing but eating! On Sunday I had occasion to fry up one store-bought and one fresh egg. Care to guess which is which? Hint: Look at the colors of the yolks.

I heard on NPR that there was an egg shortage in China and they started importing American eggs, but the Chinese didn't like them because they were pale and watery. Seems I'm not the only egg snob.
