Sarah Arrives on SE Farallon

Just to update you all, Sarah sent an e-mail today to say that she has arrived on the island. Above is a picture of the crane that lifts the boats from the water and deposits them on the island. Here's her e-mail:
"Just wanted to let you guys know we made it to the island yesterday. All is well, except they forgot to unload one of my bags (the one with Ricky [her stuffed racoon] and the bio GRE study guide), but I should get that bag tomorrow. Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny day in the 70s (it felt hot) and today is a chilly foggy day in the 50s. Ah, island life... No shark attacks yet, but lots of cool birds!"
The biology GRE she mentions is being given in early December and not again for awhile, so Sarah has signed up to take it in Los Angeles where she'll stay with a friend. She needs to take this test to get into the grad schools she's interested in next fall.

Wish her luck with grad school!
I wish I could live on an island in the middle of the ocean for months on end. Sometimes you need a break from Ann Arbor, since it IS the center of the universe and what not.
