family update
The big family news comes from Ky.! Matthew got his braces off! Hope he'll post a picture soon with a big smile!
Other news: I took Dad to see Dr. Zawadsky yesterday. His test results were all ok-nothing worrisome she said. She suggested a change in life style to help him sleep better, beginning with no coffee after noon. Bummer. Then no sleeping in the daytime which lets out our early afternoon snooze and our 4:00 coffee hr. She says to go for a walk, go to the library (and do what?) join an exercise program. We have decided that young people have no idea of what growing old means.
You need that brief nap; sometimes it's not intentional!
She said there is a possibility the cancer has spread to the brain, but she wouldn't recommend a MRI because as she put it:"What are you going to do?"
She started him on a memory/anti-depressant to be tried for a month when she wants to see him again. We were in her office nearly an hour. She asked Dad lots of questions especially about the wreck. He told her we had a 10yr. old Oldsmobile.
She did ask him how he would feel about not driving again. He said not good as it would take away his independence, but did admit he didn't
mind my driving us.

Dad's driving is something we're going to have to deal with shortly. I think his license expires on his birthday. One concern would be that if he didn't renew he might drive anyway, having forgotten that he doesn't have a valid license any more. So would it be better to go ahead and try to renew it? Thoughts?
