Behind the Scenes

After Tuesday's wonderful, and more importantly, decisive win for Obama, who doesn't want to get the poop on what was going on behind all the glitz, glam, and production that is politics in America?

Enter Newsweek and their seven-part 50,000 word series on just that subject. Newsweek embedded reporters in the campaign, with lots of access to the candidates and their staff, for a year. The only catch was that none of what they observed would be published until after the election.

I've read about half of the whole thing so far and it is fascinating. The campaigns work so hard to make their candidates into nothing more than a collection of statements, but these reports reveal the humanity of America's decision makers.
