Obama article

This is an interesting piece. It's from the New Republic but I haven't seen it in the magazine yet. I thought I'd send it along since Rob initiated the discussion during our visit about where the considerable weight of Eddy political influence should be thrown. I guess it's obvious where I'm leaning, and since Obama wasn't on our primary ballot here, you all are my only hope. (Forgive my audacity.)

Jamie, I thought it was a real interesting piece as well, especially coming from someone who actually seems to know Obama. I just hope that his "visionary minimalism" can hold up against the entrenched power of identity politics if he gets into the White House. It's one thing to have a vision of a unified people, but another to get them to sacrifice their group's self-interest for the greater good, especially with the power of lobbies discouraging it. But it's great to hear someone talk that way, and to do so with such power!
