A Big Event on the Farm

When we returned from our Orcas Island vacation today we found that a momentous and long-awaited event had occurred in our absence: Dick Forsythe found the first eggs laid by our hens!  He left them in our refrigerator with notes on paper towels.  The eggs were small, and one was a double yolk, but they were tasty in the omlet that Bonnie made for supper.

Bonnie had predicted that the first eggs would be laid last week. The historic day was  Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

Gosh, first the moon landing, now this. How could July 20 be more special?
