Obama VP
Ladies, Gentleman. Good morning.
As you sit with your copies of the morning paper of your choice, and sip from your gallon mugs of coffee I ask a favor of you.
Dearest Eddys, what do you think about this Biden guy?
Gimmie your thoughts in the comments.

Biden is the best choice. Foreign policy bona fides--he was in Georgia (the other one) for two days this week. Experience and gravitas. A real populist, good with working class voters. A Catholic. Good debater. Ready, able, and willing to do the attack dog stuff, but with a pleasant persona. Obama likes and admires him. He is also a friend of McCain's so his criticisms of McCain will have a different feel and perhaps more weight. I've always liked him.
Having just watched Biden's performance at Springfield, I'm even more convinced that he's the One (or rather the Two), especially on the attack dog mode. When Biden says he's been friends with McCain for 35 years, calls him "John," and then blasts him, it's very effective.
Biden will not only help Obama get elected, he'll help him govern. If Obama wins there will probably be a larger Democratic majority in the Senate than there is now, and if Obama is to have a successful presidency he'll need to pass legislation through the Senate. That's no cakewalk (ask Bill Clinton about his first term). Joe Biden, who is very popular in the Senate, can be a great help to Obama in pushing through his legislative agenda. Also, Biden is 65 years old; he won't have post-Obama presidential ambitions and won't spend his Vice Presidency positioning himself for president, as any of the other contenders (Hillary, Bayh, Kaine, Richardson, etc.) would have have done. He'll be devoted to helping Obama succeed. I hesitate to make this comparison, but Biden can be Obama's Dick Cheney--a smart insider without presidential ambitions of his own. But hopefully not another paranoid megalomaniac!
Biden had been my choice for President before he dropped out of the race based entirely on his appearances on The Daily Show. He seemed relaxed, normal and funnier than John Stewart.
